Pupil Equity Funding (PEF)

In 20017/18, £120m of Pupil Equity Funding was allocated directly to Scottish schools and targeted at closing the poverty related attainment gap. An information Leaflet for Parents and Carers has been added to our website. Further information can also be found on: - http://www.gov.scot/Topics/Education/Schools/Raisingeducationalattainment/pupilequityfund Laurieston Primary School was allocated £46,800. Consultation took place with pupils, staff and parents from our Parent Council to discuss how best Laurieston Primary could raise attainment. Areas identified were: nurture, widening of skills development for pupils and a consistency of approach to teaching literacy and numeracy. After contextual analysis was completed main areas of focus were highlighted and affirmed the above. Reading was one area and a particular cohort of pupils identified. Cluster wide there was a recognition that Mathematics and Numeracy was an area of focus. Both of which are incorporated into the Schools Improvement Plan for this session. Monies have been spent to date to install our Sunshine Room where pupils can access skills development, nurture and additional support with literacy and numeracy in a nurturing environment.
